All our guides are licensed and bilingual. Each of them will give you detailed historical and architectural visits of the highlights of the Burgundy region. Taste some of the most delicious specialties of the Champagne region tasting 3 Champagnes: Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir.


Located in Hautvillers, “craddle of the Champagne wines”, in the heart of Dom Pérignon’s village, in the street named after him, this restaurant is a convivial boutique wine shop where you will find a large selection of champagnes from small producers but also the most famous Grandes Maisons, as well as local specialties and souvenirs. To make your experience in Champagne region memorable, they can make you understand the subtilities of the different grape varieties, terroir, aging, dosage…

In winter, in their living rooms, discover the diversity of champagnes. Taste some of the most delicious specialties of the Champagne region tasting 4 Champagnes: Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir. You will enjoy the Canard’ise plate with duck specialties and the Champard’ise plate with regional and typical products (tapas of the most delicious specialties of the Champagne region).

Guided tour of the village of Hauvillers

We take you to the Marne Valley on a journey through the vineyard to meet with another prestigious figure: Dom Pérignon who finalized the process to elaborate Champagne. He highly contributed to the fame of Champagne and is now buried in the church of the former Benedictine Abbey of Hautvillers.


 


Sightseeing of the Avenue of Champagne

Located in the heart of town, Epernay is internationally known as the "Capital of Champagne". Epernay’s stunning main street appears like an exhibition of opulent mansions housing the most illustrious Maisons de Champagne: Moët & Chandon, Perrier-Jouet, Mercier, etc. Not to mention the 100km of tunnels under the pavement!


Tour and tasting at Moet & Chandon (two tastings).

Founded in 1743 by Claude Möet it becomes within 40 year the first international brand in the world. Its history is linked to some famous figures such as The Marquise de Pompadour and Napoleon 1st. This Champagne is also sold to many important historical events among which King Edwards VII’s coronation, Cannes Film Festival, the 120th anniversary of the Liberty Statue, etc…It is probably nowadays the most famous Champagne brand around the world.


Sightseeing of the Route de Champagne

It meanders among the vineyards and picturesque villages, offering a charming bucolic landscape. We take you to the Côte des Blancs for a sightseeing of some of the most famous Grandes Maisons de Champagne such as: Bollinger, Gosset, Deutz, etc. En route the countryside is enamelled with beautiful Grand Cru villages like Ay, Hautvillers, Bouzy, Le Mesnil, Vernezay, etc.

Tuesday, December 3rd 2019: Arrival in Champagne

 

09.30AM: Pick up at your hotel after breakfast.

Guided tour of Reims Cathedral.

Listed in the Unesco World Heritage, 13th century Notre-Dame de Reims Cathedral is one of Europe's most important Gothic structures. Let you be captivated by the unique stained glasses and the exceptionally rich statuary – over 2 300 statues among which the famous Smiling Angel. It is here that King Clovis was baptized around year 498 giving birth to the Kingdom of the Franks and starting a long lasting tradition: except two, all of the Kings of France would be crowned here!

11.00AM: In the afternoon, tour and tasting at famous Champagne House Veuve Clicquot – Clicquot Private Experience.

House founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot and his widow Barbe Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin. For a while, take a dip into the heart of this House, its heritage, its savoir-faire. And discover the making-process of its cuvées.

Depending on the availability, Veuve Cliquot can be replaced by Mumm or Taittinger.

01.00PM: Lunch at a traditional restaurant in Reims (3 courses, drinks included).

Stroll through the streets of Reims: many sites, monuments and museums show the history of Reims, from the Gallo-Roman to the modern era, going through the Art Deco period.

Wednesday, December 4th: Festive Champagne

In the afternoon, tasting of biscuit de Reims or chocolate in Reims

Discover the very traditional "Biscuits Roses de Reims", a genuine institution of the capital of Champagne. Colours, smell, flavors, here everything is tempting! Visit the biscuit factory, and the lovely boutique, and of course taste these delicious specialties as light as cotton...



Private Christmas Champagne tasting lunch at a family estate, drinks included

The House was created in 1875 in the little village of Damery located in the Marne’s Valley. Laure and David are proud to be today the Fifth generation of wine makers. They are focus on the respect of both traditions and ancestral working methods.

Their champagne Plaisir d’Antan is for instance a good example of this philosophy: Made of a 100 percent Chardonnay, this Cuvée is aged in oak casks as it was before the creation of stainless steel vats giving a unique taste to the Champagne.They work as independant wine makers with 12 hectares of vineyards and produce 80 000 bottles.

In the afternoon, discover a small producer for a tour and tasting

Established from 1912 in Damery, in the heart of the vineyard, close to Epernay, the Champagne House is one of the last familial Champagne Houses. In heritage of a winegrowers’ family, the House owns 36 hectares of vineyard located in prestigious villages, where are grown the 3 grape varieties of Champagne: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay.

Thursday, December 5th: Transfer to the Loire Valley

Around 03.00PM: In the afternoon, guided tour of the city of Tours, with a stop at the Christmas market.

Christmas season is very a festive and animated season in Tour. Ancient Capital of the Kingdom of France, Tour is an elegant city with a festive and animated historical center. Place Plumereau is one of the hallmarks of the city historical center. This small square surrounded by magnificent half-timbered houses is the liveliest place in the city, at the heart of the historic centre. The city of Tours will delight you with its medieval center, the great shopping areas and vivacious gastronomy and flavors of local markets. Indeed cheeses, selected meats and delicatessen products, local foie gras, wine, oysters, spices... the covered markets in Tours are a delight for the senses. High quality products, with over fifty stalls to choose from. And regular produce market take place everyday. The city of Tour also is home for a magnificent St. Gatien Gothic Cathedral and the Basilica that houses the tomb of Saint Martin. The city is filled with superb city parks and gardens like the Botanical Garden.  Great experiences are awaiting you in Tours!

This is a Grand Cru family estate, located near Epernay and dedicated to the true expression of Champagne. The wine grower and blender, Bernard(RM), is established at Bouzy (a Grand Cru village) in the heart of Champagne's winegrowing country. Dating back to the 17th Century, the family has always been intimately involved in champagne production; the tradition being handed down through the generations.
